Instruction

In April 2026, I decided to return to providing instruction, as noted on LinkedIn. However, back in January 2018, my plan was to return to running a business. Instead, I ultimately decided to return to BCIT. Although I achieved good results, I still wasn't focusing on what truly mattered. Then, in December 2019, I planned to launch ARC Web Development, but I never got around to putting the website online. Looking back, I simply wasn't ready to return to running a business. As you'll see below, there are six key areas in which I've done well, but they don't tell the whole story. If you browse my portfolio, you'll notice that many of the sites are devoted to music. Yet something was still missing: game design and development.

Game Design/Development

Game Design/Development is also an interest of mine, and something that I also teach online -- in addition to music composition. It is more inline with where I am heading now. Having veered away from computing in April 2022, I decided to get back on track in April 2026 -- and focus on game design/development; compared to where I was heading in 2019, I know that the traditional pathway though PHP/MySQL, React, and Full Stack Web Development are not for me. Even the classroom teaching I did from November 2021 - March 2022 was not on the right "railroad track."

Use of AI

As I am the only one running ARC Web Instruction, I occasionally ask AI to handle tasks for me, but I don't trust it completely, especially if it is providing code. As a developer, keep in mind that you are always in charge. For design as well as development, perhaps it could help you, but just be aware that it can make mistakes.
